I am in the midst of moving roles from the UK to the US and have had fun looking at some differences in the life/culture on the two sides:
1) 5/6 as a date would mean 5th of June in UK but will mean 6th of May in the US
2) Chips in UK are French fries in US and crisps in UK are chips in US
3) In the UK whilst 'gas' is a state of matter neither liquid nor solid Or something used to cook your meal, in the US it is UK equivalent of petrol or something you let go of when your tummy is upset (or whats is called 'wind' in the UK)
4) The last alphabet sounds like 'Zee' in the US and 'Zed' in the UK
5) Autumn in UK is Fall in US
6) Biscuits in UK are Cookies in US
7) Trousers in the UK are Pants in the US. Pants in the UK are whats worn beneath the trousers
